The Draw Ceremony for the CHAN 2020 will for ever be remembered as one that portrays the rich cultural diversity of the host country, Cameroon. Beginning with a giant cultural village constructed at the main entrance of the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex, one could visibly discover and savour the traditional houses constructed with rafia and bamboo, harbouring wooden and metal artifacts that depicts the four main cultural zones of Cameroon(fang- beti, sawa, sudano-sah elian and the grass-fields) with animations from loud drum bits of various rhythms.
A large section of the village was reserved for pictures of the various host cities and stadia not forgetting the display of various traditional dishes of Cameroon which was much appreciated by foreigners after savouring. The Prime Minister, Dr Joseph Dion Ngute, personal representative of the Head of State, flanked by President of the Confederation of African Football, Mr Ahmad Ahmad and the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Professor Narcisse Mouelle Kombi who doubles as President of the Local Organising Committee and a host of the other dignitaries in the presence over 5000 spectators in the Multi purpose sports complex were thrilled by cultural dance and music from some of Cameroons finest artist whose performance was highly applauded. The monikum dance from the South west and the Njang dance from the North west together with music from Magasco, X-maleya, Takam II Ben Decca and Ihims, author of the official song of CHAN 2020 left spectators with much to ride home about when it comes to music and traditional dance of moves Cameroon.
